Yes, the rumors are true. I've added a little extra 'sparkle' to my life. Can you see it?

Just before New Year's, I was talking with Todd (bald dude on the right) in the office here, telling him how I was toying with the idea of getting my nose pierced. Nothing garish or obnoxious, just a little sparkle. It seemed like a fun idea and very "european," but I was hesitant, not knowing how the others around here would respond.
Immediately, he said, "Well, I'll get my ear pierced if you get your nose done." (Yes, the guys like to refer to it as my "nose job." Such tact.) He called Norm to say we were on our way to pick him up for a little team bonding piercing adventure. It would only take an hour.
Four hours, three malls and countless jewelry shops later, we emerged from the WestEnd Tatoo and Piercing parlor in one of the malls here--ears and a nose, throbbing. But oh, how we sparkled.
Rick, our boss, was a little less than thrilled when he returned from the States to see that his team had gone piercing themselves ("Here, I left a perfectly normal team..."). But we've managed to enjoy many a laugh together as we relive the little adventure, and Rick's managed to put up with us in the process.
To answer your questions: Yes, it did hurt at first. No, it doesn't hurt anymore. I can't take it out for six months. And yes, I have figured out how to blow my nose, albeit carefully.
All in all, the sparkle just makes me smile. I know some of you may be shocked to hear this, but every once in a while, I like to step outside the box of Expectation and shake things up just a little bit.
And yes, Dad, I'm all done visiting the piercing parlors now. Not to worry--no more holes.

Oh sure...that's what you say now, girl. But I've heard that piercing is addictive.
Thanks for clearing up what I thought was a strange disease you had picked up since leaving California. Seriously, you've been gone for 5 months and the European cultural influence has already damaged you more than all of your friends here could in years of trying. :)
From now on you shall be know as "Sparkle Farkle!"
Lovin it! Dad on the other hand...not so much. But I dig it.

Hey Miss Sparkle Farkel, what's next? Or maybe I shouldn't ask. You can't do just one you know. (:
I think it's cute - so you to shake things up a bit! But you know you don't need the piercing to "sparkle" - Ahhhhh - how sweet! Seriously, I think it looks good.
Look at you Robs, you little rebel you! I knew you had it in you...
;-) I love it! Very sparkley and adorable!
