Murphy's Law

Okay, so it's no surprise to my friends who actually keep checking back to see if I've updated this yet . . . I'm just not in the rhythm of a blogger's life yet. Ever on the move towards growth, here's the latest haps. (More Summer pics and updates to come. Promise.)

It's been a week that would make ol' Murphy and his laws of reality proud.

I humbly admit, I'm just not as organized about life as I once was back in the day that I could actually READ and understand my own mail, and thus the late bill payment that I just discovered on my desk. I was only three months overdue for my auto insurance. Whoops. So "promptly" I headed to the Posta to pay my bill.

As I walked out with receipt in-hand, I discovered this:

a very large dent in my car door. Here's the long day's story short:
Robyn's clueless about how to handle an accident in Hungary.
Waits four hours to do paperwork.
All damages covered by the other girl's insurance.
Robyn double-checks her own insurance . . . just to be clear.
Discovers that in the lapse of the bill payment, her cute little red car has not been insured for two months now. At all. None. Nincs. Nada.

It's only really scary now that I know.

Next week will entail all the errands needed to fix the car and file new paperwork in a language I do not know for papers I cannot read. (*sigh)

It's a tough way to learn to get on the ball.

Oh, the Posta! Having now been there myself and remembering the narrow streets and the crazy parking situation.....I'm a bit surprised this is the first dent. So sorry for the cute little red car that so heroically carries you around every day.

Godspeed with all the paperwork and tasks that accompany car ownership.

Love you, friend!

So sorry to hear about your little car. Handling car repairs is no fun here let alone in Hungary--cannot even imagine.

I was WONDERING when you were going to update this! :-) I'm so glad you did!

Too bad about your car. Oh the adventures we live... Hope it all works out ok.

So what's the word for "dent" in Hungarian? :-)

Has this poor car of yours been named yet? I'm thinking..."Agnis"? lol
