The Inevitable Reality

It's everywhere and you can't escape. Change happens. I've known it was coming for a while now, but these last couple of weeks have been a clear reminder to me that change is inevitable. Friends move, families grow, teams develop, students graduate . . . it's exciting, but a bittersweet reality of life and I feel like I'm in the thick of it lately.

PHOTO OF THE WEEK: Last week was our final Bible study night for the school year with the MKs, so we made a memory of it. We hit up the new Mexican restaurant Arriba's in downtown Budapest for some oh-so-yummy tacos and then spent an hour recognizing the sad reality of my laser tag skills. Oh yes, and we discussed spiritual warfare on the way to the car. It IS a Bible study group, after all. Here's our intimidating group photo. Don't mess with this crew--the guys are stealth and Robyn has been known to shoot friendly fire. Despite my surprisingly pathetic scores, a good time was had by all. I love these students and will sorely miss our three seniors that are graduating this week!

Meanwhile, in the land of Seemingly Endless Change, my team is adjusting to the Stateside move of my boss and his wonderful wife [sadness]. Plus, two new families have joined our team to work in the Europe office [hoorays and shouts of joy!]. So things are a little crazy around here, but I'm excited to see what's around the corner as a result of these new circumstances. This team is awesome and I feel so privileged to be a part of it.

Change is good. Without it, we get comfortable and don't grow. It's an opportunity to trust Jesus and lean more on Him. He's the Constant we can count on, the Knower of our circumstances, the gracious Giver of good gifts and the Sovereign One in control. Such a good reminder.

That said, I'm still going to need a Kleenex at graduation on Friday.
